1. Annotation

Designing group of mining engineering department of the NTU Dnipro University of Technology, which specializes at development and implementation of high-energy metal processing has developed the innovative technique of structural steel hardening. Usage of given technology allows to rise the productivity of hardening technology at 2 – 2,5 times, to rise the detail resource at 1,5 – 2 times and to reduce power inputs at 2 times.

Composite author looks for partners to implement given technique in production.

2. Description of proposition

Innovation technique of structural steel hardening using high-density energy consists in application of preliminary shock-wave load for the first time for power inputs reduce and rise of chemico-thermal processing productivity.

Research results showed the effectiveness of previous shock wave processing for formation of doped layers in structural steels, which exceed traditional strengthening technology derived layers by number of parameters.

Given technology allows to get:

  • diffusion layer thickness - 0,85 мм.
  • homogeneous doped layer
  • existence of solid phase FeBwhich influences at rise of face coat’s wear-resistance

3. Innovative aspect and technological suggestions

While development of innovative hardening technology of structural steels for the first time ever shock wave load as stimulant of diffusion processes while chemico-thermal processing was used to upgrade the productivity of saturation process.

ENGINEERING AND ECONOMICAL PERFOMANCE:

  • Rise of chemico-thermal processing productivity at 2 – 2,5 times;
  • Working resource increase at 2 – 2,5 times;
  • Power inputs reduce for 30 – 35%;
  • Doped layer growth at 2 – 2,5 times;
  • Process time reduce at 2 – 2,5 times.
